Why keys stop turning in the lock?
If it's the wrong key, it will also be a wonder how you managed to insert it in the lock in the first place. Usually, keys don't turn in locks when they're damaged and don't match the pins of the lock anymore or when the lock is damaged and stiff due to dirt, wear and tear. Our experts offer lock repair.
Can I align the strike plate myself?
If the only problem is the strike plate, use a screwdriver to tighten the plate once you put it back in its original position. Make sure the screws are long enough or they will loosen soon again. If the problem is not fixed, it might a problem with the bolt or the alignment of the door.
Should I change my locks when an employee resigns?
Yes. If your employee had keys for your office premises, important file cabinets, or mailbox, then changing or rekeying the locks is highly recommended. You may have marked the keys with “Do Not Duplicate”, but there isn’t really anything that stops them from being copied. Take the precautionary measure, just to be sure.
